Our story
Hi, I'm Lea ... self-described mad collector of vintage crockery and glassware and owner of Vintage Whimsy Event Hire.
We have always had a ridiculous amount of crockery and glassware for a household of two, and since moving to the Sunshine Coast more than 20 years ago, the collection has continued to grow.
My husband and I are both big fans of all things vintage and retro and our collection had reached a point where it was either time to downsize or work out a way to share it with others.
So in mid-2022, Vintage Whimsy was born. Initially we decided to focus the business on the needs of locals hosting their own lovely high teas. As there has been quite a lot of interest in authentic vintage as well as vintage-inspired modern crockery we have included our Luxe High Tea Hire range in our collection.
We are continuing to expand into a comprehensive hire service, helping clients bring vintage glamour to corporate events, wedding receptions, dessert buffets, champagne and canapé-style celebrations, garden party luncheons and fundraisers.
